Save Sand Lake Neighborhoods from the Proposed Expansion of Mining

Im AGAINST the application that allows mines expanding

I clearly oppose the proposed plan to rezone lands owned by the Gardner family to allow mining on those lands and expand the existing Hoffay/Rifenberg, Olsen, Foley and Hunt Mines.

I live on Burden Lake, I believe with all new construction and people taking away from nature is going to ruined the whole area. Please don't allow this.

No to increased mining in these areas

I do NOT want anymore mining acres taken away!!

Nearby mines are already affecting quality of life in our neighborhood. This proposal would degrade the value of our homes and negatively impact our quality of life even further.

There is already so much Noise, Air, and Traffic pollution (including the threat of Water Pollution) from the current level of mining going on in and around our town. I understand that mining is a big income and employment generator for our towns, but a balance has to be maintained - our families and neighborhoods cannot keep footing the bill environmentally, mentally, physically. Sand Lake Planning Board, please do not approve the expansions and rezoning requests for yet more mining in our community.

Dear Sand Lake Planning Board, Please, with so much development going on in town and nearby, we do not need to open up ourselves up to more mining, which could put an extra strain on our roads, residents well water, and could reduce quality of life in Averill Park. Cons of this project to our environment far outweigh the pros of profits!

We do not need more mining in our town which will further contaminate the air quality in adjoining neighborhoods.

I wholeheartedly oppose this mine expansion, the amount of dust and truck exhaust in the air of Sand Lake is unhealthy as it is, we don’t need to add to this

Our Town has enough mining & enough trucks!

The town of sand lake already allows mining debris from Cropsyville to be diverted to sand lake. The dust is tremendous, just drive through the town on any given day. It's bad enough now feeling the explosions, what will it be like with even more? The mining goes on until late at night. Do the residents really want more mining, explosions going off, more dust?

Absolutely oppose. The noise and lights are heard all day starting way too early and they work late into the night.

We already have plenty of mining in the Town of Sand Lake. Truck traffic has *noticably* increased just in the last couple of years probably as a result of newer mines located along Rt 150, and behind Springer and Thais roads. Already existing mines can be heard by hundreds of people, grinding away day after day. Blasts can be heard and felt. Impact to wells is ever a concern when entire hills are removed. Further expansion serves only a handful of miners, while the entire town is impacted. New mines and further mining expansion should not be permitted.

Enough is enough! The Town needs to calm the truck traffic along with the noise and the dirt that come from the trucks!

No mines in residential areas!
