Please, please find a solution that preserves our historic sidewalks. I die a little inside whenever I see the bricks replaced by asphalt. Salem is unique and historic, it's one of the main reasons people love it here and want to live here. Don't destroy that for cheap solutions and "trends".

These brick sidewalks are part of Salem's rich history and absolutely need to be preserved. They are a vital part of our historic neighborhoods and they they keep in line with our historic homes.

I love walking in Salem but it is not only hazardous in some areas, it isn't passable by some people who cannot maneuver the sidewalks that are in bad condition. The brick sidewalks are worth saving and a beautiful part of Salem. Hope there is a way to get the funding to take care of this.

What a stellar effort! The city isn't noted for its maintenance generally, and brick has been something for which residents have had to fight and defend. What we have left should be preserved wherever it is. It adds so much charm and character to Salem.
