As a retired 20+ year employee if Spokane County Planning Dept and 30 total years as a planning professional I have looked closely at the definition and the proposal the County has before it. There is no doubt that the County, for whatever reason, is misinterpreting the zoning code with reference to this proposal. The County's decision, if it holds, will set a devastating precedence for the future.

There is nothing good about this. Increased traffic alone will be awful and dangerous. No, absolutely no!

The Dwight Merkel complex is a better location - access, parking, general infrastructure already there.

The sports complex would be at least strike three against spokane county. I’m sure you’ve seen the ugly huge apartment buildings going up on carnahan in front of nice view homes. They also recently allowed two cheap duplexes be built right next to view houses on east 14th just off carnahan. This all is inappropriate planning.

The Glenrose area is a jewel that should not be spoiled not only for sake of residents but those of us that pass through occasionally. Surely there is another piece of land that is more suited for a sports complex. How about the land on Regal south of soccer complex.

The roads cannot handle the volume of traffic this will bring. It will destroy the rural ness of this area. The lights at night will be harmful to wildlife. The complex needs to be located where development already exists not in a rural setting.

This is a rural area that needs to be left alone. The traffic on the south hill is excessive as it is. We need to preserve the historic rural areas.

Such a complex would be destructive to the Glenrose Community plus the entire surrounding South Hill Community which I am a part of. Traffic, roads, noise and lights are negatives to any community.

The word needs to be spread, this will not just affect Glenrose but also all residents on roads leading out that direction. The word needs to be spread to all neighbors on the east side of the south hill. 29th and 37th one lane roads will be packed, all those neighborhoods west of glenrose. More needs to be done to get the word out how this will negatively affect all of the east side of the S. Hill

Live on the south hill and enjoy the peace and quiet and beauty of this area. Open and wild and quiet. If you want to build a community center do that. But not as loud noisy heavily lighted type facility that will destroy all the surrounding homeowners peace & beauty!
