I am opposed to the sports complex being constructed in Glenrose

I wholeheartedly support NOT building this extraneous stadium. The noise, light and traffic that will increase by its being built will lower property values for obvious reasons. A way of life will suffer miles for all who want a more peaceful environment, and the serene nature of Glenrose will not survive. Other small business opportunities will not come to pass because business owners will choose to live and invest in other areas that support a more sensitive approach to growth.

Stop taking natural habitat redevelop something that has closed down or try an area where you won’t be rehoming animals and taking the beauty away from people

Traffic congestion, noise and light pollution will degrade the quality of life in Glenrose if this regional sports facility is built here.

Urban sprawl needs to stop on the south hill to keep property values where they are. We live on the “south hill” because of the charm of a slower pace and rural setting. There’s been enough commercialization up here. You can put a sports complex out north where they don’t care or try the west side, it’s cheaper. Don’t ruin what’s left of the south hill glenrose area.

This will negatively affect all around the area with noise and light pollution, traffic, and property values

The proposed youth sports complex is inappropriate for this area. I do not live in this area of Spokane but I often drive on Glenrose and the roads are currently inadequate for an endeavor of this size. Traffic lights will have to be installed at the intersections of Glenrose with 29th Ave. and 37th Ave. There is no bus service in this area, an important consideration for a child oriented project. Some kids will surely attempt to bicycle on Glenrose Road to their games and practices and with very few people driving the speed limit in that area tragedy is bound to occur. The proposed project is not a Community Recreation Facility, it is a Participant Sports Facility.

I am signing this petition because the rural spaces in Glenrose are vital to preserving our natural environment, including the critical aquifer, as well as protecting wildlife. I have lived in the Glenrose community for 28 years and it’s defining characteristic is it’s rural and natural environment, with frequent sightings of deer, moose, elk, porcupine, foxes, eagles, coyotes, and more. This Sports Complex threatens this. Furthermore, the Sports Complex is not inclusive and does not aligned with the community's values or wishes. It is against the zoning for the area and our voices must be heard. Please respect our natural land.

Please stop this sports development in Glenrose. This area, abundant with wildlife and limited with road availability, is not the appropriate place for development of a sports complex with such a massive traffic and environmental impact. Keep Glenrose Rural.

An additional reason to be against a regional sports complex is the harm/disruption to wildlife.
