Save Rural Glenrose

The last thing theSpokane area needs is another sports complex. The Glenrose area has already been overdeveloped with tight housing in gated communities, and the building and destruction of habitat must abruptly stop if we are to preserve it. I happily add my name to this petition, and encourage others to do the same. Spokane must be developed in a way that represents it’s motto of Near Nature, Near Perfect.

There is already too much traffic on our roads.

The infrastructure cannot support the kind of expansion this plan proposes.

The housing communities being built along Glenrose (ie., trickle creek) are already destroying the natural beauty of this community and taking away the natural habitat of the local wildlife. In addition, the streets CANNOT handle the traffic that will come with a complex.

This area is so beautiful and teeming with wildlife. Do we really want to drive the wildlife away by developing this land?

Rural Glen Rose must be kept Rural Keep Realestate Developers OUT!!!

Please preserve this beautiful rural area! I just moved here for those reasons and strongly oppose the development of a stadium. We need to preserve our wildlife habitats!

The infrastructure in the area does not support the sports complex or the multitude of housing being jammed into tiny lots in the area. The fire threat is real the roads are rural, built for the original farmers. The sidewalks are few. The petroleum pipeline runs along Glenrose. The area is a natural watershed. Most properties are on septic, well and propane. This is a natural wildlife corridor with deer, moose and bear just to name a few. Stop cramming all this development into a stretch of a few miles. Spread it out around the county.

This is an irresponsible use of land during a time of climate change, drought, and stress on the aquifer. There are numerous playfields throughout the county, including 2 large baseball fields owned by the county in the same area at Prairie View Park, which sit empty most of the time. This is an unnecessary development that will put undue stress on the natural environment.

Keep Rural areas RURAL!! It is important to preserve and maintain our beautiful wooded areas, if even in only ten+ acre increments. Keep the city functions in the city!!!

I am opposed to the sports complex being constructed in Glenrose.

This sports community is not needed in the Glenrose area and there is a wide expanse of similarly close to town options that would be feasible for such a sports complex not in the glenrose area

We do not need this sports complex in our community, and certainly not as envisioned with stadium lighting, turf, and the anticipated traffic. Glenrose is still charming and places our city in its agricultural history. To lose the open space would be a loss.

Save the beautiful rural area of Glenrose! Spokane United!

I’m against the building of the sports complex because of the disruption of the serene, peaceful suburban landscape.

We cannot fill every space we have left with buildings and concrete floors. This is what makes glenrose so special. You can come and still be in touch with what little outdoors we have left to enjoy.

I OPPOSE THIS PETITION! Spokane is growing and will continue to grow whether you like it or not, and it's important that we build up communities that support our needs. With a growing population it is harder and harder to find available spots to enroll our children in sports with many having to drive across town to practice or play sports on a daily basis. This is becoming very challenging for a working parent to offer that for my children. It's not just an inconvenience for us but it's becoming a struggle. We need this sports complex in our community!!
