Save Rural Gig Harbor: No Luxury Resorts on Olson Drive

End runs around current zoning must not be allowed

This proposal is shocking. Perhaps “outrageous” would be a better word, given the depth and intensity of the exploration the last several years into the nature of our community and what citizens want it to be. (I moved here in 1975 and have been on various sides of development issues, but not this one. It’s devastating!)

Sounds like they’re trying to pull a fast one with the zoning. I do not agree with their plans and would like to keep this area as is.

I am a Gig Harbor resident and am concerned about the indiscriminate development of our precious rural surrounds.

This development should not be allowed in a rural area. Gig Harbor is growing too fast without appropriate infrastructure. We need to keep our rural areas safe from this type of development. This is why we have zoning laws. We need to cut back on this type of development in Gig Harbor!

Keep Gig Harbor Small!! No more apartments

This area is not zoned for this development and this should not be permitted. We have to keep our rural areas safe from this type of density growth. This is not the proctor district.

My husband and I own a home in the Wollochet Bay area. Please understand that once this area’s natural resources are gone, it’s gone, folks. I had no idea this project was even happening, and it makes me quite sad that money is more important than preserving culture and the natural beauty of the Puget Sound region. Parcel by parcel, everything that was once beautiful will disappear and be replaced by concrete and steel.

If this gets approved, it will set a precedent for more development that will destroy the neighborhood and our wildlife.

This area is filled with farms and animal life. It would destroy the nature of our rural area. Stop this nonsense . Once it starts it will never stop. It will destroy the area. Don't allow these developers rape the area.

Please, enough development! We are rapidly losing the character that makes Gig Harbor special.

Please keep Gig Harbor growth reasonable and maintainable. This is NOT.

I understand the increasing need for senior housing nationwide. But this should not come without proper planning and coordination, especially with local emergency services and other infrastructure. A change from rural zoning to the required zoning for a community such as this is too drastic.

The Gig Harbor I have lived in and loved for many years is being ruined by all the trees being cut down and way too much over-building and for what? so the developers can get rich while our once beautiful town is destroyed. Needs to stop.

Luxury apartments are NOT the need. Create a community-centered mixed-income housing with vouchers for low income families, transit solutions, and high-quality childcare and we can talk.

This development would ruin an area that has always been low density with horse pastures. Typical bid to make big money off of someone else’s neighborhood

This is not the place for high density growth.

This development does not belong in this part of Gig Harbor.
