It's wrong to have housing so oversized and so disruptive to the community.

This is a bad idea for a rural neighborhood.

Gig Harbor’s roads, sewer, water systems, schools, and roads are overtaxed already. More multi-living units will just exacerbate the problem.

Enough is enough. Stop the insane growth and save green space. Most of us moved to Gig Harbor for a reason ...to enjoy our NW beauty in our “backyard”

This area is beautiful in part because of the rural nature. Neighbors know each other and have been there for generations. A giant corporate neighbor is not welcome.

The idea of a housing proposal of massive luxury mansions disgusts me any where near Gig Harbor!! This area is already over developed! Take your project to California or just can it completely!!!

The Gig Harbor area is being ruined by developers mowing down all native plants and trees and building houses right on top of one another. We need to preserve the native wild areas and shorelines for future generations to enjoy and so we continue to have the native plants and animals that make this area special.

I strongly oppose the continued growth of Gig Harbor when it impacts our rural area and animal habitats. Enough is enough!

My family lived on 52nd Street, and regularly walked past the proposed site. The roads around the area won't be able to handle higher volumes of traffic without extensive repaving. These rural areas were not settled and connected with dense residential zoning in mind. Even if it's convenient access to the schools, the congestion will be significant down murphy drive and 38th, including an important wildlife crossing point at the bottom of 38th (by Briarwood). Extensive work for streetlighting, sidewalks, and widened roadbeds will make this project far more expensive to the area, and put additional pressure to expand the road networks through long-standing residential areas along Olson, Murphy, 38th Ave, Briarwood, and 50th st. Ct.

I strongly oppose the proposed development by Kensington Gardens. Development in this area should follow the Pierce County and Gig Harbor Community Plans, which say that residential areas “should provide for low residential densities with appropriate public improvements and services to provide for a rural lifestyle and protect rural character.” Rural land uses must be “consistent with the rural lifestyle and within the carrying capacity of the natural environment.” In addition, the development falls outside of the Urban Growth Area — the 2800 acres of unincorporated land targeted by the City of Gig Harbor’s Comprehensive Plan for future development.

It’s time to put an end to housing projects and land aquisitions that only serve the benefit of the rich, especially in an area such as this

Make no mistake about it. 100 residents does not equal 100 people impacting the neighborhood. Staff, postal deliveries, emergency response vehicles, food services, construction workers, landscapers, pool maintenance workers, exercise trainers, vanpool drivers, housekeeping, dog walkers, hairstylists, therapists, people hired for education programs etc, etc, etc will occupy that space. It will be a 23 acre 3 ring circus. The average Gig Harbor citizen will not be able to afford living there. This is for the uber wealthy from somewhere else.

I strongly oppose this Kensington Gardens high-density housing proposal. If this project were approved it creates a loophole that other landowners and developers will exploit. There is no guarantee that other large land owners motived by money won't do the exact same thing. Greedy people will do anything they can get away with. Gig Harbor's Land Use Advisory Committee needs to do the right thing NOW. Deny this proposal. Trust me, this will not be the last time this issue is raised.

Nothing that they have done has been upfront or honest in my opinion. This area is single family dwelling. Please deny their application for construction.

I oppose any of this ludicrous development. This does not fit in a rural area and the themed constructions does not fit with the Character of Gig Harbor either. Come on Man!

I am a resident of Gig Harbor and live not farm from the proposed (and apparently already underway) development project. Kensington Gardens has no business starting or seeking to continue construction in this area of Gig Harbor as they are clearly in violation of county and city zoning regulations, and the area simply is not conducive to such a ludicrously large development project. The Gig Harbor area has exploded in population in recent years, and this project will undoubtedly make traffic congestion more cumbersome for current residents. Furthermore, in an age of rapidly changing climate, it is extremely unwise to bulldoze intact ecosystems as they are some of our last lines of defense against the effects that will bear down upon us in the coming years. Kensington Gardens must move to an area already zoned for and experiencing similar types of development. Gig Harbor is not that place.

As a 41 year resident of Gig Harbor, I STRONGLY OPPOSE any further development by the Watson on Olson Drive. Our property directly abuts the proposed "adult family home" compound. I agree with all concerns outlined in this petition. The rural character of this R5 zone will be eliminated. Please do not allow one wealthy, well-connected resident to bend the rules for their personal gain. It is to the detriment of many existing long-time homeowners whose quality of life will be impacted, along with increased area safety issues, noise, and loss of wildlife habitat. Thank you for your thorough investigation and attention to this misplaced urban growth.
