Stop Playgrounds are essential. At present we are in a situation where the local residents are older. But it won't be long before they leave their houses and the next generation of young families move in to raise their kids here. Kids who need play space. Don't be short sighted.

I think it's such a shame that our local parks are threatened with closure, kids need to be encouraged to be outside playing not cooped up indoors, and this play park is well loved by a lot of children who live nearby. SAVE OUR PARK!

I use this park two or three times a week with my toddlers, it's ideal as its close by, the others are too far to walk to with screaming toddlers! Please don't close it!

We do need this park, it's well loved and well used. It is so dangerous for children to play in the streets. Long ago when children played in the streets there was not anything like the traffic there is today. Are we going back to the dark ages?

Im not sure when they discovered this apparent "Low Usage", it's always got people and children there when I go through. Did they check after dark??

Wonderful and safe area for children to play, we need more of these places not less.

Closing this park is ridiculous, the yearly upkeep must be minimal.

This park is where my sister & I & our friends played when we were children back in the 1970's. My parents still live around the corner and we still visit the park now with my own children. Whenever we visit there are always children playing here. I have seen my nieces & nephew grow up playing here. It will be an absolute travesty if this park closes. It is an important part of the community and should remain a place of play forever more.

Parks and play areas play an important role in keeping children and adults happy and healthy. At a time when NHS costs are escalating it seems ridiculous to cut well- evidenced prevention facilities such as these.

As others have said, this is a very shortsighted decision. Children need play areas for their mental and physical wellbeing. Not all children have access to a garden to do this.

Millions spent on refurbishing new council offices in Letchworth, NHDC Leader Lynda Needham awards herself a 19 per cent pay rise, millions squandered on a District Museum that is not open to the public and meanwhile they want to close parks depriving our children of vital open and green space. I can't really find the right words to say what I would like to say.

What a short-sighted decision! Closing children's play areas and restricting their access to open space, safe play facilities and community hubs is absolutely ridiculous. Shame on you NHDC.

This park has been part of my life for 37 years and is now part of my step daughters life, they love this park as much as I do. It's fenced in and safe for my children to play and explore. Don't close such a legendary park, which has also got open space right next to the park which is perfect for family picnics. The donkey is legendary and is a part of our history that hasn't been ruined!! Please save our park
