Save Riverfront Park

It's a great family friendly park and one of the only ones in our area. I would be really disappointed to see this great park go.

I wish I'd learned about this before the public hearing of June 21st. This is a small amount of green space in the area. It's not just a place to walk in the park, but a place for a community to gather. We've played ultimate frisbee in this area, kicked the soccer ball around and have held family picnics. WE don't live in the area but our parents do. It's green space that everyone in the community enjoys. "Community" not only means those living close to the park but those who come from all parts of Greater Vancouver. The daycare was proposed for the River District Development. Please establish it in that area as originally proposed. The city's argument that it should not be erected in the zone closer to Marine Drive due to the poor air quality and the danger that it poses doesn't quite wash when it has approved the development of homes. This is a field/park where children living in the neighbourhood should be able to walk to and play. Did you consider that these are homes where people aren't as privileged to afford a back yard like those in the area for the proposed Arbutus Greenway? This is the little bit of green patch in the immediate area they can get to without hopping their cars. Please find another location for the daycare other than Riverfront Park.

it is very important to preserve the greenspace that we have in this area, especially given the massive amount of development in the are over the next number of years. please consider the quality of life for exiting and future residents. thank you

This greenspace is not wasted or under-utilized; it is a necessary space not only for people but also for wildlife. You would remove the use and pleasure Vancouver residents receive from this space at all hours and restrict it to a few select hours for a few.

I've lived across the road from this park for 13 years. Everyday I look out my window and see many different people using this park year round. quite a few birds feed here on the grass and even the occasional coyote passes by. Leave the park alone, Tt cannot be improved with a daycare. With many thousands of residents moving into the area in the coming years we need all the greenspace possible for a healthy outdoor future for our children.

The original development plan stated that daycare facilities were to be part of the development located east of Kinross. Please keep your promise to local residents to leave the green space alone. The park space is valued and used extensively by residents. We do not need more condo development - we need more green space to ensure that this neighbourhood keeps its community feel. Thank you.

There is no excuse for this nonsense. At such an early stage the City destroys the tiny bit of green-space here! ?! Put the daycare(s) where originally planned and stop being so greedy! No no no. Don't back-peddle and impose the needs of the richer, newer buyers on those who have been a part of this community for ages. Daycare yes. Destruction of PARK no. NO

I bought my condo one year ago across the street from the proposed daycare site - I was told this was a park and would never be developed...I moved into this area for the River walks, the wonderful greenspace, wildlife and serenity provided. Now the city is wanting to utilize this space for it's zoned purpose. Why now? With what has been all over the news recently regarding several East Vancouver Schools shutting down, why the city would choose now to build a daycare and potential school annex is beyond comprehension. This beautiful, tranquil, well used by all, greenspace should be rezoned into a designated park and kept the way it has been for years and years. There is absolutely no reason the city needs to take this space away from us. Turn this greenspace into a designated park and lets put this to rest once and for all.

This park is well used and highly valued by the community. We are facing a huge influx of people to this area so this is just wrong headed to now diminish the green space.

Please Save this green area, we are surrounded by high rises and buildings. The government absolutely don't care about people, traffic and surrounding roads capacity!!!!!!!! All the government is concern is buildings so they will sucks inn taxes, and steals more money. This site is just a green grass area, not even a real Park. Let us have it. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
