This is one of the best series on BBC for many years - great scripts, great production values and great acting. Why on earthe is it being cancelled do we all have to suffer because of the so-called "popularity" of reality drivel that passes for entertainment?

i only watch 2 programs on the bbc. "dr who" and "ripper street". these are the two best shows in this country without question. why do i pay the bbc my license fee? certainly not to watch garbage reality tv or soaps thats for sure. when we occasionally do get decent shows the bbc axe them. why? because simpleminded baffoons watch reality trash and the bbc get all panicky coz they dont get the ratings. who cares about ratings i want to watch decent shows and ripper street is absolute qualtiy. reid, bennett, n jackson brilliant chemistry together and brilliant acting. bring it back NOW bbc.... as for "you were a celebrity! get the hell of the air"

I didn't know that the BBC are so much caught up with ratings? Clearly they are otherwise they would realise and accept that sadly so many people enjoy watching 'legends in their own bedrooms' sucking on kangaroo's dicks in a pseudo jungle environment! The intelligent ones amongst us however would like to see something of quality. Ripper Street was/is some of that quality. It's actually quite scary that the people who seem to have the say on what's recommisioned and what isn't don't seem bothered that quality is to be sacrificed in the face of commercial drivel. Shame on you BBC, we want Reid, Drake and Homer back, and on sundays where they really work!!!
