The BBC killed this by moving it to Monday nights...on Sunday all it would be up against was Morecambe and Wise and Fort Boyard.... Quote after series 1 by you: Ben Stephenson BBC: "Quality and ambition run through Ripper Street, from Richard Warlow's original scripts, the incredible cast and the captivating direction," said Ben Stephenson, controller of BBC Drama Commissioning. "All combine to create a period series with a modern and gripping edge." Nothing changed except Monday was the wrong night... Get the BBC to re-show this series soon on a Sunday night again, and watch your ratings soar! Your show is up there with the US Sherlock Holmes, UK Sherlock Holmes, Elementary, Perception and The Mentalist ... We will miss it......what next, cancel Dr Who?

Ripper Street apparently had 3.2 million viewers v ITV's I’m a Celebrity, which attracted 8.8 million viewers.
BBC please note… That is 3.2 `MILLION` people who choose to watch compelling, extremely well acted drama, over a bunch of Z listers eating bugs.

This show is one of the best on TV. It's disgraceful that it is being sacrificed. The BBC will still get it's funding either way. Totally unfair.

First they cancel the ecellent Survivors for the dire Outlanders - a massive and embarrassing bomb - noiw they cancel the best quality drama they've done in years with a sparkling script and compelling plots and characters. And replace it with what? More reality trash? Talk about dumbing down, BBC!

Uunbelievable news. Beautifully written and performed. I hope Tim ratings that the BBC are quoting take into account all of us who record it and watch after the younger members of Tim household have watched ITVs drivel!

Sick to death of celebrities making macaroons and doing the rhumba – WE DON'T ALL WANT BEIGE, DAILY-MAIL-READER TELLY!! Whoever made this lowest-common-denominator, ratings-based decision needs the sack NOW, along with the short-sighted pleb who cancelled The Hour. At this rate, cable channels down in 500s will be better than the chav-pleasing crud the BBC will soon be offering. ENOUGH!

One of the best on british tv, don't let it end without a proper end at least, if the ratings were an issue then don't schedule it for 9pm when I'm a celebrity is on itv.
