Nothing would bring my faith back in Redwood City and Greystar if they were to help bring the rink back! I lived here my whole life 32 years and that was a big part of my childhood

The rink was a special place for so many. Roller skating is great exercise at any age, and it gives young people something constructive to do. The rink and club have turned out many national and international champions during its 65 years. The rink is missed by many, which is why you are getting so many letters. Having a new rink on the project will put Greystar in good standing with community. The closest roller rink is 70 miles away! Please listen to those of us who would value, cherish, and absolutely love to have our rink back. Thank you!

This would be really popular because of the nostalgia of the old rink. There are no rinks close by either, many others have shut down.

Skated here for over 10 years. Kept me out of trouble and gave me something to do with friends that also kept us all out of trouble. Would love this to come back for a booming neighborhood.

Think back for a minute of when you were a child and some of your favorite places or fun things you got to do when you were growing up?
For me it was the ice rink in Burlingame or the Rolladium in San Mateo. Saturday afternoon matinees at the Burlingame Fox Theater was also a favorite!
For my kids growing up in San Mateo it was the ice rink at Fashion Island and Marine World in Belmont. Except for the ice rink in San Mateo all of the above is now gone!
So I urge you to for once instead of just thinking about more housing please consider a new roller rink for the community so that families today can make their own memories for tomorrow!

I've got a much longer letter elsewhere, so for the comment box I'll just say I thought I realized how important the rink was to the community when we had it, but the past three years without have shown me how much I underestimated its importance. I miss it dearly.

I would love to have a roller rink in the area. There seems to be less and less places to go with the family. A place that allows families to get together and also exercise would be amazing.
