Red Rock Canyon is one of the most magnificent and accessible canyons in the U.S. with its proximity to Las Vegas. However, in my view, development on Blue Diamond Hill will ruin the landscape of the entire canyon, greatly diminishing a place that should be preserved for everyone to enjoy and explore. This canyon is a sacred landscape. There is nothing more beautiful than to be in the canyon and watch the sun rise over Blue Diamond Hill and see how the light is cast on the mountains and across the canyon. It would be a tragedy to mar any part of that environment with a housing development.

This area should be preserved for recreation and the contemplation of nature. Housing can — and should — be built sustainably, at density, in our urban centers.

I am Canadian and have been travelling for a week yearly for the last 10 years with myself, family and friends to enjoy this wonderful site. The ecological damage caused to this area with local development would be irreversible, To put it in terms that the local government would understand, we would stop coming, as would thousands of others. Tourist $$ gone. understand,

I would prefer not to sell our most precious treasures to developers. I thought that red rocks is a national monument, meaning it belong belongs to us all. It's really hard to put that cat back in the bag. These are beautiful places that provide enjoyment to generations of people.

The United States already have too many vacant homes. We do not need more homes built, especially where it can ruin the little natural beauty we have left.
