Dear Clark County Commissioners: I am a former resident of Las Vegas with strong connections to the community. I urge you to continue to protect Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area and its vicinity from urban and suburban development and sprawl. We need to preserve its beauty which is far far more valuable - in the form of tourism (monetary), in the form of the natural beauty of Las Vegas, and the spiritual significance of this area. Any mediocre town in America can have a spreading cancer of crummy McUpscale housing developments but is Las Vegas mediocre? No! There is only one Red Rock in the world and it is in Las Vegas!!

As a frequent visitor to Red Rocks, I believe development of this canyon would potentially ruin one of the most beautiful parks we have in the country.

I grew up in Vegas and loved being able to escape the city and go to Red Rock. If this area get's developed, it will be another example of politicians and developers trying to squeeze money out of recreational land.

Red Rocks should be kept as "wild" as it still is. Its is an area where people go to escape society and have some peace and quite in a somewhat natural setting. With houses there, it would be nor feel as authentic of a natural area. This is a scared area for all people, some places should just be left undeveloped.

I travel to Las Vegas regularly. Unlike many others I don't come for the strip. I head out into Red Rocks and enjoy the hiking and other recreation opportunities that affords. Further encroachment by housing developments would disrupt the experience for millions of visitors to the Red Rock National Conservation Area each year
