There is so much more land/area left to be developed in the Las Vegas valley. My family and I have seen firsthand the significant lag on infrastructure on already developed land. (Lights, road projects, sidewalks, etc) that haven’t been even addressed yet.
People are dying in car accidents or road crossings because it is so unsafe to leave these civil works un done.

That’s just the logistical side of it. There’s also the conservation of RRNC. Las Vegas is unique in that we have such a world class recreation area for recreation that is _already_ very easily accessible from within the valley. I can’t count how many times I’ve heard people tell me that they feel like they are in an entirely different world once they enter the area. This allows residents a chance to escape and tourists a unique view of Las Vegas. Creating high density development that is visible would destroy that.

There is no reason to expand on the hill. there is so much more growth left in the valley. There is also impact on traffic on blue diamond road and mountains edge. The infrastructure is not keeping pace with current growth (lights, roads, sidewalks etc)

Some places are special and should remain for all to enjoy. Red Rock is one of those places. Why do we keep having to sign petitions to protect "Protected" land from development? It's absurd! There are so many places to buy a home and build in town. So many homes are being built now everywhere simply select another place to build.

I recently visited Red Rocks to spend a week climbing with friends and enjoying the serenity of the area. It would be a great misfortune if non-rural development was allowed any closer than already exists. Further development would greatly detract from the wilderness and recreation opportunities currently available at Red Rocks. Red Rocks is the primary reason I visit the Las Vegas area and any non-rural development in the Red Rocks vicinity would impact my decision to continue to visit this area.

As a photographer and a climber, I encourage all those involved to think long and hard about the impacts of "development" around National Conservation Areas. Noise pollution, light pollution, litter and polluted runoff are just the beginning of issues that would be introduced to these fragile places.
