Such an amazing natural park. Why is this even a thought? There shouldn't be any development 10 miles from here

I was born in Las Vegas in 1986, have been climbing and hiking in red rock most of my life. Housing and development has already encroached far enough into the area, and clearing a mountaintop just for a few people, would be a loss for many more generations to come.

I’ve traveled all over and Red Rock Canyon is unlike any place I’ve ever seen. It’s a real treasure and should not be touched! its beautiful, magical and so special to me. Just the thought of this breaks my heart!

I have lived in Vegas, and visit Red Rock annually and would find it heartbreaking to see commercial development there. Go to the desert to the worst looking place and develop if you have to.

I grew up in Vegas, my family still lives there. It remains a part of me and I CARE. We will not stand by and watch our last refuge be bulkdozed and filled with concrete, over run with new traffic. Red Rock IS a natural refuge that must stay natural. Keep developers out! We have watched our town be run over, every last natural wonder, Las Vegas, “the medows” was a beautiful natural wonder (which is why the trail settlers stopped theirs in the first place). We have seen every natural sand dune, every natural cliff side haven for foxes, turtles, owls...the list goes on, absolutely ransacked for development when simply a little bit of city planning could have saved. There was/ is PLENTY of land to develop. There could have been care during Vegas’ development to save these natural high desert wonders....but no thought was given. Please take notice to this one remaining natural wonder, Red Rock. It’s not a place for housing, not a place for strip malls, nor condos, nor anything. It is simply a beautiful piece of a miraculous and splendid example of Gods handy work that should be left as that. Please do not allow this beautiful wonder to be developed. It is a refuge. It is nature. It is God land. Please leave it be.

Visited Red Rock for the first time this year on a business trip to Nevada and I cannot imagine having all that beautiful land turned into a crammed housing development to line the pockets of a developer. I will be back in August for another business trip and cannot wait to visit Red Rock then, without the ugly eyesore of an unnecessary housing development.
