Climbing and the natural beauty of the region are the primary reason that I and many others would come to visit the region. This kind of development would destroy the nature and character of the region that creates such value in the Red Rock Canyon area at great cost to tourism, local business and the experiences of those who visit the area.

Red Rock is a national treasure and we don't even need Nick Cage to help us protect it! Seriously, I would probably never visit Vegas again if Red Rock was hurt.

Red Rock Canyon is one of the most profoundly beautiful places in the lower 48. Its uniqueness as a national monument is due to its isolation from the city of Las Vegas and the fact that a thriving desert ecosystem lives in this preserved niche. I only visit the Las Vegas area to visit this canyon and I want it and the surrounding area to be protected for the future so that I can share its natural beauty with the next generation someday. I understand that developing these lands will create homes with stunning views that will likely be very profitable for the developers but I urge you to consider the long term cost to the environment and the experience of those who visit this treasure. Please vote to protect this land!
