We lived in Las Vegas for 16 years before moving to the Washington D.C. area. I loved our visits to Red Rock Canyon - the scenery, hiking, and star parties with the LVAS. I am saddened that this is even considered. Red Rock was where we went to get away from Vegas. You don't realize how incredibly lucky you are to have Red Rock Canyon. Living here on the east coast all we have are bulidings, houses and gridlock. Trust me, you do not want the Red Rock Canyon area to become that.

While I can understand the desire to continue to grow as a city; I encourage you to grow in a different direction of the city & permit the national treasure to be 'natural' and 'wild'

With all the availability of land and other places out there to build a new city there's no need to mar such a treasure as Red Rock. This is an area where people visit to enjoy the scenic and beauty of natural wonder. Why ruin that?

Red Rocks Canyon gives people visiting the Vegas strip and opportunity to escape the craziness and connect with nature.
Fostering an appreciation for nature, and allowing people to discover natural beauty is more likely to foster a respect for the environment, and subsequently has a direct relation to how people treat our land.
Destroying this beautiful place amongst the chaos will be detrimental to the wonderful coexistence that currently exists; a place where outdoor enthusiasts and casino goers alike can coexist, and a place where regardless of our hobbies, we can all agree, is pretty darn breathtaking

Red rocks is a place I hold dear for my climbing experiences there and camping under the stars. I oppose proposed developments and the Clark County suit to prevent SRR from opposing it.

I am a professional climbing guide and I work in Red Rock Canyon four months out of the year. This Canyon is a national treasure and provides more value to the State of Nevada than for development of dense housing. There is not enough infrastructure and county resources to support a very dense development adjacent to a nationally protected area. Terrible impact and loss of tourism revenue for Nevada and Clark County!

Nevada is not short of open spaces. This sacred space should not be developed. Vegas suburbs are hideous enough.
