Redrock is a nationally renowned rock climbing destination which contributes to the Las Vegas economy. People need undeveloped places for recreation and renewal, and flora and fauna need undeveloped places for habitat. Not all land needs or should be developed. Let's keep these special places set aside, free of development.

Please keep houses out of our view shed. Red Rocks is a unique and special place being so close to the city without the sense of being in town. This place is critical to the mental, physical and spiritual health of all those that visit and living nearby. Thank you.

This is my place to vacation and the only time I actually travel and spend money is on my trips to Vegas to climb. With out the beautiful rural feel of red rocks and with the houses being build me and my group of friends might just take out money elsewhere during the season

That place is one of the few places you can find such isolated beauty. I've spent years of my life climbing at Red Rock and I have always been thankful for the relatively low level of development, compared to Vegas. This open space provides a way for me, and a lot of other people, to get a true feeling of being in Nature. Something that I think a lot of people in our country need to experience. The outdoors tests you, brings positive social interaction, allows for a more diverse environment, and maintains its "value" without any human interference. Building another housing development will take all that away, forever. Vegas needs to realize the value of this precious patch of natural beauty that is so close to home. It is worth more as it is than as a housing development, if you look in the long run. Housing developments can be built in a variety of other places, too. If you consider the need to house a growing population it doesn't matter as much where the housing is built, why do we NEED houses to be built here? Well... I guess so we can open more chain restaurants and make more money in this booming suburban neighborhood... If this is a statement you agree with I beg you to consider your motives. We can't sacrifice short term economic prosperity for the long term health of our land and of our people (there is a direct relation between the outdoors and health).

Being able to hike and enjoy the beauty that is Red Rock is a privilege and shouldn't be inundated with more traffic and pollution. Blocking the natural beauty by more housing developments that are not even necessary should be a crime!

I hike in Red Rocks all the time. This is a National Conservation Area, and should not be crowded by a housing development.
