When I visit Las Vegas one of the things I love to do, and have always done, was to unwind from the busy city at Red Rock. Its sacred, so keep it that way. i think if more people sat at the bottom of one of the canyons and listened to the nothingness they'd be swayed to keep it quiet. all too often the sounds of the encroaching cities ruins a moment of solitude.

Keep Red Rock Rural. This is amazing ecological conservation area gives a home to not only tortoises but many other delicate creatures who make the desert their home. As well it provides an opportunity for people to experience nature and have powerful experiences outside. In this modern age both adults and kids are losing the ability to make it outside, so we must prioritize conversing these landscapes for both the tortoises and humans for generations to come!

We have enough housing that is being built in every direction. We don't need to go out to red rock.

Climbing at Red Is Rock is the only reason I visit the area. I've camped, stayed in hotels, dined on the strip, off the strip, and spent money in the local climb shop, bik shop, laundromat, etc. There are too many other beautiful rural places to visit outside of Nevada if this becomes too crowded and less rural.

It would be such a shame to let track homes and shopping centers ruin such a beautiful piece of heaven right outside Vegas. The damage can not be undone, ans will accumulate negative impacts. I grew up in Pahrump and I remember always taking the scenic route through red rock and am now so saddened to see track houses butting up to the edge. We don't have many really cool things in Nevada, so let's preserve the ones we do have.

Red Rocks should remain rural. Adding a city of 5,000 homes would add 14,000 people and 10,000+ cars in close proximity to a very fragile environment. The pollutants created by these homes and cars will accelerate the deterioration of the rock. Tourists will stop coming along with climbers as it will lose its charm. Revenue will be lost in the hotels and neighboring businesses.
