Please don't ruin the canyon with a housing development. That's just asinine.

I vote and I am actively involved in attracting and influencing others to vote. RR is to unique to slap urban development into the views/surrounding areas. Please think about the future of Las Vegas and not the limited interest of developers and their short sited goals. Sometimes there is nothing wrong with maintaining the status quo.

We, the undersigned, encourage local, state and federal officials and relevant agencies to protect the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and vicinity from the negative impacts of non-rural development, and to preserve and enhance the conservation and recreation opportunities for which the NCA was created.

My husband and I visit Las Vegas twice a year to climb at Red Rock. We never visit the strip. We visit Red Rocks because it feels remote despite the fact that it's easy to access. We stay at hotels, rent a car, and eat at local restaurants, however. If that feeling of remoteness is compromised by thousands of homes and more traffic, we will find other places to climb and will never visit Vegas.
