As a former resident of Las Vegas, it sickens me that urban sprawl threatens the beauty and existence of Red Rocks. I enjoyed many afternoons there escaping the city, exercising and recharging my soul. Please protect this natural wonder for more locals and tourists to experience.

I have grown up in Las Vegas and Red Rock has always been a beautiful escape from the busy vegas life. It would be a shame to tarnish a national landmark.

Red rock is the most beautiful place in Las Vegas and I would be heart broken to have development ruin the feel and scenery this amazing place gives me.

This has been a restful, natural place to visit for decades. It should remain as such. This development would add light and noise pollution to an area that has never experienced it. Please keep Red Rock safe from encroachment. We have so few untouched places in the valley. This needs to be our line in the sand.

Don't build near the canyon. It's such a gift to have that place as it is especially so close to the city. New building projects will mar the beauty and change the way outdoor communities intersect w the space.

I grew up in Las Vegas and feel very passionately that the Red Rock area needs to remain a rural recreation area for all to enjoy. I know the LV way is to plow through/over everything and build, even at the cost of destroying history and treasures. Don't let this become that too. It's too special of a place.

do not let a developer spoil this beautiful Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. It presents awe-inspiring views most wouldn't expect to see near a major metropolitan city. In contrast to the bright lights and hype of the Strip, Red Rock offers desert beauty, towering red cliffs and abundant wildlife. The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area receives 1.2 million visitors a year. The mountains in the Red Rock area were formed by a number of geological forces including fractured faults where the earth's crust collided over millions of years and fossilized sand dunes. Some cliffs reach up an astounding 3,000 feet. The sandstone rocks in the conservation area get their color from iron oxide. Over centuries the iron oxide built up, producing the vibrant, crimson color the canyon illustrates today. One of the more scenic parts of Red Rock Canyon is the Keystone Thrust Fault. Here, millions of years ago, two of the earth's plates collided with such force that part of one plate was shoved up and over the other. This created a magnificent contrast between grey limestone and red sandstone. We need to preserve and save this beautiful place from every developer there is!!! This amazing conservation area is also home to about 200 different mammals which include burros, rabbits, coyotes, bighorn sheep, red tailed hawks, golden eagles, hummingbirds and even a few wild horses, bobcats and mountain lions. The 13-mile scenic loop drive exposes visitors to the geological history and splendor of the canyon.

Red Rock is the greatest thing about Vegas. Without it you lose the freedom to enjoy nature itself. There are plenty of other places to build. You gotta save Red Rock.

They better not touch that rock!! I'm from the east coast, I've cycled thru there it is awesome, developing would be a disgrace to our land there are plenty other places to develop.
