Public use of Santa Margarita Trails has been SAVED!

Save the Santa Margarita River Valley Trail system!!!!!

We absolutely need this trail to remain open. It is very important for us to continue to enjoy this land. Our children and animals are running out of land to explore.

This is such a special place to both hike and ride my horse. It sure would be a shame if it was closed off. We need more recreational open space not less. This would negatively impact the community of Fallbrook.

I've lived in Fallbrook 16 to 17 Years and have ridden on these trails. I've also joined work groups to clean the trails. Myself and friends who ride in this area appreciate and respect the trails and area. Please do not close this to equestrian use.

9/11/1 We parked at the equestrian staging area and rode the trail down that would cross the road. We are always careful to stay on the open trails and avoid the "no trespassing" section. This time we found that trail blocked with cable. We managed to go thru brush and get around; however, there was a full load in the trailhead who would be riding that way. Luckily we found a security guard and talked to him about the situation. He was walking over to check and said he would bring it up at the meeting 9/12. When we returned we found the cable had been pulled back so equestrians could safely get thru. We are extremely careful to respect the posted No Trespassing and are only requesting a safe trail to access the main riding area.

Tkis is a unique resource enjoyed by many people in a completely non-destructive way. If there is any way to allow continued usage and enjoyment of this trail and area, it really should be preserved.

I was there over the weekend and have been there one time before. There was horse back riders, families,hikers,dogs,kids people all enjoying such a beautiful spot. All interactions with people were very friendly all were enjoying the trees shade trails water. Please keep this open for all to enjoy.

We have so few places to ride our horses. We need this place available for us equestrians.

Please allow Equestrians and riders access to the trails and river crossings. It has been many wonderful experiences with very scenic riding for my family during these last 15 years.

This is my favorite place in all of Southern California to ride my horses.

It's already hard to find riding trails. Santa Margarita River Valley trail system needs to be saved for the outsidesman. Please write for an easement clause in the deed. We depend on you!

The Santa Margarita Trails are my favorite riding trails and we would be so sad if we were not able to ride here anymore! Please dont shut down the trails!

As an avid equestrian and life-long San Diego County resident, I have experienced first hand the diminishing open space areas for riders and hikers, and no open space, public use area offers all that the Santa Margarita River Valley trail system offers. Allowing it to be closed to continued public use is a gross disservice to public good and is contrary to public will. Good government is measured in part by acts aimed for the public good, as expressed and defined by the public as a whole - those most impacted. Keep it open, keep it free, limited regulation and control.

As a local landscape artist and a member of the Santa Margarita River Valley Painters (SAMAPA) I am personally aware of the difficulties of gaining access to trails. There are very few points of public access along the entire course of the Santa Margarita River. The trails in question are one of the few of those points. I support maintaining access to the trails.

Please keep this land open for Mountian bike use.

Great trail! Would definitely miss it if it were to be gone
