This issue should be about faculty’s failures, students should not suffer for poor faculty decisions and administration mismanagement.

As a proud alum of Cardinal Hayes High School, I know firsthand the value of a strong Catholic education in the Bronx. Preston High School has been a cornerstone of academic excellence and faith-based learning for generations. Losing it would be a tremendous loss to the community, the students, and the legacy of Catholic education in our borough. I stand in solidarity with Preston’s students, faculty, and alumni in fighting to keep this school open. Let’s do everything we can to preserve this vital institution!

Preston provided me with much more than an education. The friendships that were formed remain strong almost 55 years later. The school became my second home for four years, a place where I felt safe, loved and happy. My heart is broken thinking of all of the young women who may be denied the privilege and blessing of attending Preston if the school is closed. I pray for all who are working to save Preston. May their efforts be successful!!
