We do homebound food distribution to families in PQ Village because they are aging or sick and could not come to the regular food distribution at the OLMC church. These families should be supported because they have been living there for so many years and are part of the OLMC community.

The City of San Diego has overseen the destruction of thousands of low cost housing units downtown, only to be replaced by over-priced cookie cutter condominiums. The result has been increased homelessness.
The PQ Community Plan reserves the property within PQ Village for low and moderate-income housing. A & P Properties knew this when they purchased the development. For once, will the City of San Diego step up to the plate and say, "Enough is enough?" The proposed plan needs to be rejected outright. Let the developer return with a new plan that conforms with PQ Community Plan.

I support this petition and find the explanations used to justify the displacement of the residents involved farcical. I am disgusted at the way the city has handled this whole scenario.

It is crucial that PQ Village is maintained as low income housing. Not only is it the law, but it's the right thing to do for the most vulnerable of our neighbors. It is a travesty that any developer would ignore the law and disregard low income families, and an even greater travesty that the decision-makers would be complicit in this blatant disregard for law and fairness toward humanity. Save PQ Village!
