Negotiating should not be taken away from employees. It is unjust. This would be the final step in making law enforcement completely undesirable as a career.

Don't touch the pensions, they were negotiated and agreed to in good faith. Now you just want to make a name for yourself by messing with public employees

After 31 + years of Public Safety Service I just want to live a comfortable retirement...We've already taken a beating in bankruptcy, health care taken, away and frozen and drastically reduced pension increases. Just take into consideration that as we age and the damage done to our bodies and minds while executing our duties that we need more of all of the above, not less...Retired Capt. / Acting Chief...Detroit Fire Dept....Robert A. Please leave public safety pensions alone. These pension benefits were earned after years of faithful service and bargained for in good faith. Part of the problem is the state has cut revenue sharing which has inturn reduced local government financial status'. I will concede that also many municipalities failed to do their part and contribute their fair share into the pension funds and choose to spend the money elsewhere. These decisions. Were not made by the officers but by the leaders of the municipalities.

It is not fair to reduce the pensions from SOM retirees, as they are aged out from active job market and hard to seek employment, especially unmarried or separated from spouses.

I think we need to honor the benefits that were earned and provided contractually. It's time to look at the lawmakers benefits.

This proposal is absolutely ridiculous. Police and firefighters risk their lives, bodies, and their sanity for the publics protection all for incomes that can barely support a family. Support our responders.

Just the idea that the state of Michigan is even considering this is ridiculous.
