Throughly disgusted.! Do to not go forward with House Bill 6074 and the adjoining 12 other bills that will negate a large portion of the healthcare benefits as well as pension amounts for ALL police and fire employees in the state! What a horrible injustice to those who have sacrificed So Much already! Be a part of the solution people, Not the Problem!!

It has come to my attention that some Congressmen and women want to take Police and Firefighters pensions away. This is UNCONSCIONABLE!!! We don't get social security because many didn't put in much, if any at all. Firefighters and Police go through Hell and back during our careers. And it leaves us retired and worn out, in pain from on-duty accidents or fights, gunshot wounds, head injuries, smoke inhalation, explosions. These are just a very, very small indication of how we get injured, and how we must live with the physical and mental issues for the rest of our lives. I remember, very vividly, a woman who's face and head was melting completely because her husband boiled a pot of cooking oil and poured it on her head, in front of their young children. And they will live with that for the rest of their lives. As will every police officer, firefighter and paramedic that was there. Another incident involved young woman that was stabbed 42 times.- And wasn't found for 4 days. I lived and slept for a month trying to get rid of the vision and smell of "old" blood in my head to no avail... I still can smell it now when I think of it. I could go on and on and on with MANY other incidents that will NEVER leave my memory. And believe me....it changes us. Pleeeease, I implore you to reconsider taking away our pensions that we worked SO VERY HARD to get. Thank you very much, Susan Stevenson Southfield Police Department (Retired)

It is a disgrace that our lawmakers would consider such draconian cuts to the pensions and benefits of those who put it all on the line daily to protect their communities, especially in a lame-duck session.

Michigan retirees were already hit with an unexpected pension tax. Now is not the time to go back on previous agreements for another bite of the apple.

Do not cut the pensions of our First Responders

This is so wrong on so many levels! Contracts, written promises, hundreds of hours of negotiations just cast aside beside a handful of haven't-got-a-clues decide they just want to make a name for themselves without having to answer to anyone. What a disgrace and dishonor to those who have worked in harms way for the these idiots.

First responders deserve to be fairly treated. Lives put on the line on a daily basis is reason enough. That doesn't even take into consideration the potential for emotional and mental distress from what we endure. I'm blessed that after 25 yrs of law enforcement, I am pretty much intact. Please see to it that it stays that way.

Please don't make me go on assistance by cutting my pension and increasing my healthcare costs. I gave the State of Michigan 26 years of my life

What sense is it to negotiate a contract if the government can just erase it whenever they feel like it? It's wrong!! And shouldn't be legal.
