There is no excuse for treating police and fire fighters like this! They deserve the best of benefits!

I am not sure what is happening to our government. How about they take the pay cut and get out from behind your desk and see what it is like to serve and protect.

We negotiated numerous contracts giving up raises and other benefits in order to have paid health care when we retired. We earned it, leave it alone!!!!!!!

When we lay one of our own to rest you come out and voice your support of the police to the public, in front of cameras. Now do the noble thing and support your police behind closed doors, when it really matters

Please don't do this to the faithful who have served so honorably. This is a travesty.

I'm appaulled at this bill! The officers put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve the people of their communities and now you want to mess with their benefits!!! Terrible!!

No reductions for our retirees healthcare or pensions.
Inflation is bad enough on a fixed income,
Please stop taxing pensions also.

-28 year retired police officer
-no ability to contribute to social security during most of my career therefore will be penalized by SS and receive a reduced SS benefits as opposed with the private sector employee
-retirement check recently reduced by deduction of state income tax
-why penalize employees who devoted their career to a righteous and noble cause, then retired in good faith under terms of a collective bargaining agreement guaranteeing cost free health care?

The financial impact upon thousands of families would be devastating. Many sacrifices and concessions were made over decades to earn what we have. To cut them would be unfair. It would also put many families into a financial tailspin, taking away benefits they earned and have budgeted for.

How dare the Representatives take away even more from the police and fire. Police are currently under attack by people insisting they are the cause of all that is wrong with this country. They work hard and most don't even earn close to what the Michigan congressmen make. They are under a lot of pressure and DANGER and they shouldn't have to worry about the state taking away what little benefits they have left.

Taking away the pensions of the people who put their lives on the line is absolutely absurd!

If you keep taking away from the police and fire departments you will not get qualified people. They will go where they have a chance of making a living.
