I'm SO tired of the politicians caring only about $$$ from developers & not the whole community in so many ways so they allow money-hungry developers to turn this state into one giant development, one huge townhouse, one giant parking lot -- pave paradise to put up a parking lot! No! This tree is ancient & historical. It's seen so much more than we have & it and it's siblings are trying to save this earth.....yet humans so ignorant simply kill them. Why? The developers can work AROUND trees! We did! Save this gorgeous tree! Show you have at least a bit of a heart PLEASE! STOP the killing! Do not destroy this tree!!

This ancient oak should be preserved, development is threatening the character of our neighborhood and this tree is a symbol of that and more. I am a resident of Arlington park for 25 years, and it saddens me to see what this neighborhood is becoming.

Real trees give our neighborhood their identity. New modern landscaping trees make the neighborhoods bland and sterile

This guy is a historical landmark in our town. Let's find a way to continue the growth of our town, while preserving it's natural beauty.
I get it. It's his property, he bought it, but perhaps we can reach a compromise of cutting down the long, low hanging branches that would obstruct Pham's new properties, while preserving the other parts.

My mother grew up in the neighborhood on Hyde Park, and my grandparents' house was bulldozed last fall, likely by this same developer. As a kid, I always enjoyed the large old oaks of the neighborhood, might have even climbed this one. Too many of our old homes and old tree habitats have been destroyed by greed and big ugly houses. Please save this one in honor of all those lost.

My grandmother had a little 1940s house on Hyde Park, not too far from this tree. Her little house was bulldozed and is now some rich persons' concrete pool patio. Childhood memories of Easter Egg hunts and Christmas Eve dinners, and my great-grandfather feeding squirrels in the back yard bulldozed and covered in concrete. Too much of that kind of destruction has happened in this town. Yea, so, it's just a tree, right? A tree that has been here twice as long as any of us. A tree that is so giant it has created it's own mini environmentment and home to animals and insects. A living creature that has earned the right just by it's survival to be left alone. Please don't let another Sarasota memory be concreted over for profit.
