Preserving what nature remains in this area should be more important to people than it seems to be. You cannot replace this once it's gone. We are severely over developing this area and not thinking about growth that can sustain and support the integrity of the area.

I grew up on that street when it was a dirt road. There were two grand oaks that the road divided to enable them to survive until progress destroyed them. I don't have much hope for sarasotas environmental future, the majority of the original trees are gone and the bay is nearly dead. None of my sons wish to live here because it has become stagnant in sarasota.

Stop cutting down all of our trees, they keep our temps cooler and provide habitat for wildlife, we can find a way to develop around nature rather wiping it out for profit and greed.

I hope this petition will sway the developers into showing our community that they value our grand trees.

Developers need to understand that natural entities have rights. They are not chattel. A tree like this has social capital, and that is part of the active, creative life of a town. A town without such trees is not a place to live.
