I have seen this far too often in Sarasota! These beautiful oaks are what gives our community its uniqueness and beauty. They cut down a gorgeous tree on the corner of Webber and Shade - made me so angry...just to put up a few little boxy homes. Build around this tree!!

So many of these beautiful ancient trees have already been destroyed! Let us allow the rest of them to live. They provide much needed shade and habitat for all of us, animals and plants.

We had many around our house in Cherokee Park in the 1970s. Sadly only one remains. Save as many as possible because Sarasota is slowly losing our natural beauty.

That tree lives there and has lived there for longer than any of us. Respect. We can’t keep letting “love of money” destroy the irreplaceable. imho … if a tree makes it to approx. 200 years old (especially in Florida) it is irreplaceable and must be protected.
