These oaks have a priority claim. They were here before Sarasota was. Too much of old Florida has been/ is being trashed. Respect your elders.

No one should be able to get away from cutting down historic and majestic trees. Glad for this petition!! Good luck.

Three houses can be built on this parcel while protecting the two lots that this majestic tree sits on. I am hopeful the new owner will work with the thousands of concerned citizens that are watching.

Please do the right thing and save this majestic tree. The thought of destroying it is sickening to anyone with a conscience.

The beauty and majesty of this old oak tree is priceless compared to whatever a developer wants to build in its place. We need to keep this piece of nature intact for any wildlife to survive amid too many condos and more rancid, spreading housing that destroys any sense of peace and calm that we need for this planet and neighborhood.

Taking down this tree in any manner including saying, "It's dead anyway" or "It's diseased" whether true or false and removing its majesty from our city and our neighborhood for any reason especially to make money is in a sense (get ready for it, sorry) rape! The city may not do this. Where is the adult in the room? Sure, it can, but it would be violence. There is no justification a builder or government can offer. IMHO it is immoral to take a tree like this. It would be a wound to the city and the community. The city may not have it. IT MAY NOT TAKE IT.

What people are not realizing has anyone been to fort Lauderdale,we will look like that in a few yrs if we do not put a stop to catering to developers and transplants .There are no trees left , irs all concrete and the wildlife is gone .

No one should even be thinking about and certainly not allowed to commit this kind of act of bald-faced environmental vandalism.

We love walking in Arlington Park and looking at those old trees. Please work around the trees when you are building. You will feel good about saving nature at the end of the day every night.
