For years, Mandurah's nursing students have benefited from the support of Dr Phil Arena and Dr Stephen Rankin in academic writing, science and numeracy; it is with their help that many of us have received grades that we can be proud of. However, this support is being withdrawn. Without consenting with the students of Murdoch’s Peel Campus, the positions of Phil and Stephen have been seen as no longer viable. This is not acceptable! Our fees pay for an education which provides us with the experience of exceptional educators such as Phil and Stephen. Cost cutting in this way is simply not on. As fee paying students, we are entitled to keep the experience of Phil and Stephen at the Peel Campus. With so many students from a variety of backgrounds who have required and still require the help of these incredible mentors, it is our responsibility to show how vital their resource is.
