I wholeheartedly support this petition. I have been fortunate to work with Katie in the development of online courses while a faculty member at PCC. Her expertise and professionalism is incredible. I have seen her work to bring online education to a place that addresses expectations for student interaction and equity in a way that should be modeled. I always felt she was a valued colleague and peer. As a manager, I observed Katie function as a valued peer and faculty member. I have subsequently served as a Vice President of Instruction at two institutions since leaving PCC. I would have no problem recommending her for tenure at either of those institutions. I encourage the Board to simply do what is right: recognize the injustice that has been done and award Katie Datko Tenure as favukty at Pasadena City College. It is right and just.

Katie Datko has been instrumental in the DE program that we have here at PCC. She has been extremely helpful and supportive to faculty providing classes online. She is a valuable asset to PCC and should be granted tenure. Please re-consider. Thanks.

Katie has been an exceptional colleague, trainer, and workshop leader and has been instrumental in the success of our DE program. She is exceptionally qualified and I urge you if not to revote to give her tenure, at least to reinstate her and re-do her evaluation in a transparent manner.

I can’t believe we are about to loss a great ESL teacher. Katie was always be nice to all of us, she talked to us like we are in the same levels, she acts like our friends, she was always helpful and we can feel the passions in the class or off the class. She was always steps out of her way to help us in daily basis. I can’t remembered how much I’ve improved in terms of my daily communication skills and other language skills. I’m sad that she might not be one of our pcc family members.

Hello Mr./Me. Dean
Professor Datko has been one of the best professor I had at PCC. She was caring and she always gave me feed backs. She gave us relatively challenging assignment to get us prepared for English 1A. I was indeed prepared for 1A after taking her class and I was better and more confident in writing in English. She had a great way of teaching and I always recommend her to my ESL peers. She is a great teacher and does not deserve to leave the school. Thanks

Katie has been an exemplary colleague with folks around the CCC system. She and Pasadena paved the way for every CCC to go to Canvas. She consistently provides excellent resources and ideas and I can't imagine Pasadena losing her.

The board should at least allow Katie to state her case and give a fair impartial consideration to her valid points.

As a current Board Member of the CATESOL Education Foundation, we are very proud that Katie Datko has won this year's Ron Lee Technology Award (our most prestigious award). CATESOL is the professional organization for all ESL teachers in California.
As one of Katie's former supervisors (CSU, Long Beach), I can assure the Board of Trustees that Katie's work in the classroom is cutting edge and that her students appreciated her innovative and effective teaching techniques.
