Katie was always warm and responsive in my interactions with her. She did a good job running the model courses with PCC online. I recommend her for tenure.

Professor Datko is a teacher and colleague par excellence. I've worked with her since 2013 when, after developing the model course Distance Education program, she guided two dozen teachers through a rigorous distance education curriculum. Her positive contributions to our beloved campus are numerous: her work on the Learning Assessment Committee helped Pasadena City College through a difficult accreditation review; when requested to do so, she helped update the model courses with brilliant new content; now in the Languages & ESL Division, Katie continues to share ideas and pedagogical innovations with teachers who request her time. Students value her enthusiasm and clarity of mind as much as her colleagues do. She has indeed been an asset to Pasadena City College. By granting tenure to this outstanding teacher, PCC would reward Professor Datko's years of service, leadership, and collegiality. Without reservation, I support her tenure.

Katie was invaluable when I needed to improve my courses in Canvas. Not only is she a wiz in Canvas but she understands best practices. Now we don't have anyone in that role. I just don't see how PCC can not give her tenure. She is collegial and really smart.

I went to graduate school with Ms Datko, and collaborated with her on a number of projects. She is one of the most creative, innovative, and dedicated teachers and curriculum designers I know. She deserves not only accolades, but tenure as well.

I attended a workshop of Katie’s and learned how to sharpen my course planning skills. She has been an asset to the campus and should be allowed to continue contributing to the campus with her remarkable skills.

Katie has been a dedicated practitioner and educator throughout her time at PCC. She was most helpful to faculty wishing to obtain their on-line certification and always made herself available to faculty to assist with questions and concerns . It would be very sad if she was not given tenureBased on the input of a manager who is no longer with the school because she was not particularly effective. Katie has also been in the central part of the Seeing Eye committee for at least three years and has provided invaluable assistance in the development of hybrid an online courses.

I began working with Catherine Datko at the University of Southern California in 2004. Katie is hard-working, knowledgable, creative, and a true teacher. To deny her tenure amounts to nothing but dirty politics. Such politics are no longer acceptable in academia.

Despite the unfairness Katie has suffered by the illegal move to the ESL department, she has maintained professional teaching standards and quality of work that is undoubtedly worthy of tenure. Please reconsider your vote to avoid the loss of such a valuable PCC faculty member.
