A very Bad idea. I am a long time business owner and operator in Pequot lakes and the last thing we need is it to be even harder to get into Pequot to support our businesses. We have "struggling businesses" because it is harder to get into town and you want to fix that by making it even harder to get into town! That makes no sense. In the short term we can not afford yet another summer of road construction and near impossible access to Pequot Lakes and our businesses, and in the long term this would yet be another reason for people to shop elsewhere.

The city already shot itself by going thru with the bypass, now you want to ruin the downtown more. And without the views of the local businesses. Good job council. Not!

Seems pretty expensive, is the city gonna buy a Zamboni too? If you ask me this a place i would avoid.

It's dangerous and foolish. Absolutely no consideration has been given as to the economic impact on the businesses who have lost so much already. It feels like our local government hates to see someone succeed here. Let's let others speak on this before we totally destroy what's left of our town.

I’ve never really been one to follow stuff like this. Mostly because I don’t really understand it all. But Natasha Puffe laid it all out in a way I can comprehend. I moved up here for the beauty and small community that Pequot Lakes and surround areas has to offer. It’s broken my heart since the first tree along 371 was cut down. Watching our community turn into a shell of itself is heartbreaking. Seeing local businesses struggle is heart breaking. Why would they want to do more to hurt our community? Why would they think families would pass up all the beautiful lakes, boating, fishing, and water sports for a child’s splash pad. I am signing in support of my community.

This road closing will isolate PL even more and create congestion. What would be the liability risk to the city with a splash park.

There was a time in this country that the government was thought to serve the people, rather than reign over the people. Taxation without representation is tyranny! Inform the populace and let them make the determination if this park is right for Pequot Lakes!

As a co-chair of Bean Hole Days I was surprised to hear the project was in the works for a long time without any input from the chairs. From the looks of the current plan the current bean hole pits are going to be removed with no definite new location. Extremely alarming that the park commission or city would not have stopped by or called a lead volunteer on this massive undertaking.

I have been living, working, running my business and raising my family in Pequot Lakes/ Breezy Point for 16 years. I was a local fire fighter for 11 of those years. I have a very strong opinion and strongly disagree about this whole Trailside Park project based on a variety of reasons, personally, professionally from the fire service to the safety side of things, as business owner and let's not forget the financial burden. So I'm going to make this as brief as I can yet to my point. I'm not sure where it is financially reasonable or responsible for our city officials to decide on spending ANY amount of money to a "splash park" when that money was designated to the quality, safety and maintenance of our new roads throughout Pequot. Yes safety..... I myself would like to know my family, friends, fireghters, police officers, local residents, elderly, tourist, school buses ,everyone gets around safely on our public roads in our very unpredictable MN weather. I've seen firsthand the results of poor road conditions. That means we NEED the money that was designated to our roadways to stay there!!!!!! This was a huge infrastructure change in our area and that came with some great pros and many cons to our local business owners and residents. So let's take exceptional care of it now that it's here, not create a reason for its deterioration, especially considering the money was granted for it.
Second, a Splash Park??????? My opinion I'm one person, but we reside in MN where we get maybe, maybe a good 3 months of warm/hot weather to swim in. It's very easy to see that the most of us enjoy our warm sunny days out on our land of 10,000 lakes or shopping/ dinning at our local businesses. I would like to see the future budget proposals on how the city plans to pay for the care and maintenance of this splash park?!?! Concrete freezes, thaws, cracks, water lines must be drained and prepped for winter, water testing, city water usage increased, trees, storm damage winter month
