I think this is a terrible idea!! How many people even use the park that is there now? I’ve never seen more than 6-8 people here at a time, why take away the road through town, take away parking for businesses and make it even more difficult to visit Pequot? I’m sure the decision has already been made, it will more than likely go ahead as planned. Hopefully the voters of Pequot will let their thoughts be known come election time!

I grew up in the area and now live in the cities, but am up often in the summertime. There is already a dramatic difference in traffic to the businesses due to the bypass. I’m worried how this proposed change would affect the city economy further.

This can not happen,we haven't recovered from the bypass, yet they are going to build a park that is not needed, and it will be at the taxpayers expense as the do not have the funds for any of this!

I’m not against a park, but it sounds like it needs more discussion and input from the community as to where it should go.

I'm sorry but I think removing Patriot Ave is a ridiculous idea. Does Pequot want to even have a town? It's hard to have a town without revenue. Without businesses there is no revenue. Pequot Lakes will simply fade away.

This would ruin Pequot Lakes as we know it and more than what the bypass has already done!!

Prior to a decision made by just a few individuals, a project of this significance, should require a well notified public involved meeting, that allows input from the community and most importantly the Tax Payers that will have to pay for it long term. Businesses need to be able to thrive in order to have a successful city! Seems more and more are costs being put on the backs of the small businesses without enough consideration of their input, which continues to diminish the amount of successful businesses in Our City! With signs - travelers have easy on/off from 371 via Patriot Avenue - if part of Patriot Avenue is closed down it will deter people from coming into town at all. Businesses cannot handle one more “ding” on the traffic count!

Not against doing park but closing road not good idea for traffic flow.

I think this will be detrimental to the already hurting businesses in Pequot.
