Please dont close Patriot Ave. Working in this town is my livelyhood! Hate to see the businesses go under.

There's no logical reason for closing the road. Why? just to build a park for a few people

What if..... Road would have been SAFE 4 lane through town.... There was no 371 bypass... Community input was voted on...including tax paying businesses... City council listened and acted accordingly... You can’t take back what already happened but you can hopefully change the future if you feel so strongly about this. Which apparently people do. Show up for city council meeting - ..‪Monday, April 16th City Council meeting at 6:30 in the Council chambers at City Hall‬. Don’t put your head in the sand and hope this will go away. If you felt like you were not informed - well you are now.. pass it on. Voice concerns respectfully- hear both sides and hopefully a group of great minds can come together and figure this out.

Tonight we have submitted a list of questions to the council asking if they could be answered before 4/2 so we can all have some clarity on things like costs, traffic studies, water concerns, etc. before the council meeting on 4/3. One of the biggest concerns from the comments today seems to be the issue of eliminating Patriot Avenue and rerouting the traffic between the stop light and Sibley to Front Street and Government Drive raising the traffic congestion. This seems to be producing the opposite result of the very reason the bypass was so heavily promoted to the citizens of Pequot. We look forward to having our questions answered prior to the April 3rd meeting .

Borrowing money for something the town didn’t vote on, and has a very loud voice against...??? Time for elections! Please remember this the next time we go to the polls.

Please reconsider this decision. The people of Pequot Lakes should expect fiscal responsibility. Borrowing more money for a worthless project does not make good financial sense.

This will destroy our town, the confusion and congestion will be enough to keep all the tourist people away. Then our town will for sure die.

I thought the reason came to our beautiful area was to enjoy our quaintness and beauty, so why is it being turned into an ugly mangle of roads and the killing of all our beautiful trees. Leave things alone!! Sure wish us locals could have had our say in the big highway crap. Just more road and for lots more idiots. Makes me very angry

This is totally stupid it would create more congestion and eliminate parking of which there’s not enough already!

Leave the road alone. Things are working just fine. The new park idea would do nothing for our city

Personally I would avoid going into town all together if this would to be done. Driving on Government Dr is like playing a game of chicken. I can only imagine what it will be like if everyone was on that stretch all the time!

I agree completely with the petition points. Promote existing business in town and put major efforts into bringing more retail and manufacturing into the area. ALLOW BILLBOARDS IMMEDIATELY!!! Put efforts into a community center for year round use. Kris Moody

it sounds premature to expand a park that will have less street traffic due to the bypass. Use of road funds for such speculation seems fool hardy

I use Patriot Ave on a daily basis, it will be a struggle navigating around town without it, especially come summer months! The town has already been changed by the bypass so much, is this even necessary?!

The people need more time to think this over .....
