Spending $1.7 mil on this project is not the answer. Especially when there is a waterpark in Nisswa. You are kidding yourself if you think that this waterpark is going to solve any problems. What makes you think that an eyesore in the middle of town will help businesses? Instead of grasping at straws, listen to the business owners who you are supposedly trying to help. They don't want this!

The idea of a new comprehensive plan first is a better idea before doing this expensive project. My biggest concern is our town's businesses. There is very little shopping now and the buildings either are vacant or looking like they need a lot of upgrading, with exception of a handful of nice ones. Most people come to town for some sort of business or the school. Work on those, then do a park when you have extra money. Doesn't that make more sense?

Please STOP and reconsider this project. The City and State have done enough damage to the independent business' on Patriot Ave already. Do NOT put them at a further disadvantage by closing this road...if you do, it won't be the only thing closing in this area!

I like the project but to fund this project there should be more planning, let the community who lives here voice opinions. This project needs more time and competitive contractors Use events to bring in more people for fundraising start new gatherings. Festivals bring in more arts bring in more food options restaurants. Market local business.

The city of Pequot Lakes does not even have a comprehensive plan. The last one they have was from 2013 and they are just starting working on 2018 and have a public hearing in November. Demand this project be halted until an updated comprehensive plan is in place. I work in Pequot Lakes but live in Crosslake and they are doing an excellent job with their comprehensive planning and involving all the community and businesses input. Look at their Crosslake city website and comprehensive plan. They even have an updated Crosslake Goal list.

Let us and local businesses adjust to the new bypass for a few years before making any more changes! Then meet with business owners and get their opinion before any more changes.
