Shunting traffic onto either Front St. or Government Dr. would just make it more difficult to patronize the local businesses. Government can get narrow enough with parking that adding more traffic would be dangerous. I can think of better ways for the City to spend $1,700,000.

This is a rediculous idea and so much money. Maybe spend it on homeless people in the community or anything else more worthwhile

The whole bypass is a joke. Its killing this great little town. For 2 weekends out of the year they needed a bypass and now they want a splash pad, you've got to be frickin kidding me!! I will never bring my kids there.

As a business owner in Pequot Lakes, I not only oppose the closure of Patriot Avenue for many reasons including traffic and safety concerns, but also feel that a Splash Park is a ridiculous idea and complete waste of taxpayer’s money. How is a Splash Park going to benefit the local businesses? How about a strategic and logical plan that promotes business and increases the tax base and does not assess more taxes on the few businesses that remain.

As a person who visits your town about once a month. I do not see the value or benefit of this, from the perspective of a business owner or from a visitor like myself. If the road in front of the coffee shop is used as a thru Street- no one will be able to cross the road and pop into those businesses. There is enough traffic on this road already and lack of parking spaces. It also would not be a straight shot to access businesses on the North end.

This is just crazy. Why does the town think the citizens should have no say in this project.

Mis use of funds, before the effect of the bypass has even been studied.

Pequot needs to make an effort to LOWER taxes rather increase them by making major decisions without a vote.

I feel that everyone has been kept in the dark because the planners knew what the reaction would be. More public information is needed before anything can happen. Shame on those trying to SLIP this by without the public given any information.

Seems like Pequot Lakes City council is doing their best to kill what businesses they have now.
