SAVE PATRIOT AVENUE IN PEQUOT LAKES, MN

I think this is gonna cause so much devastation on our lil town. I love all my lil shops and to borrow money to pay for it thats bs why don't y'all put something amazing in our town that everyone could use and or be part of. How about a community center to kids and teens and volunteers or help our low income families or single people. I hate seeing money being thrown around to Just cause problems instead of working together as a community or helping the community. This is a crapy deal.

I encourage all of you to look into AGENDA 21. Ask your council members where the idea of this “master plan” came from? Agenda 21 is at work in your town!! Don’t be fooled!! This is just the start of it!! Ask what the continuing mantainence cost is going to be after this is paid for?

This is crazy, my property taxes have doubled and now they want to install a splash pad that will require crazy amounts of maintenance and borrow the funds from money needed to maintain the old highway! The taxpayers should be able to vote on something like this. It's time for a change at city hall!

To reroute all south bound traffic coming from north I believe is a bad decision. It is already somewhat dangerous on the corner by Wells Fargo and TDS. I have many times left the post office to turn and go south when someone came around the corner too fast. The congestion would only be worse there. Any semis needing to access the businesses on either side of town would have to deal with more traffic. I also believe that as people see that it would be more difficult to deal the traffic they may not even bother coming into town but would go elsewhere to get what they need.

The current plan could make the in town businesses even more difficult to access.

Save it. Let’s use some common sense.

too much , too soon. we don't have enough information in the form of vehicle and pedestrian traffic studies, after the bypass, to even think about changing patterns. Also the businesses need time to recover and re-tool if necessary, from the bypass.

Please don't do this! The City has taken away the highway, and now is implying they have money to develop? While commercial property values plummet? Do they think they can assess for this? Help!

I would like to see the results of all or any of the traffic counts they have conducted to see how much traffic occurs on Patriot avenue. My guess is they haven't done any evaluations. Without this information I feel it's negligent to proceed with this proposals. Proposals based on ideas over facts are irresponsible, and the city is NOT representing the tax payers in the manner that they should.

This is absolutely ridiculous! Why are they trying to do something here without letting taxpayers know. We need to take a serious look at who’s running the city.

Its already hard enough to get to Pequot from where I live. Tourium very important to the businesses of this town and to shut this road would cause congestion. What already has been done has hurt these businesses.

Our city leaders have not consulted with the citizenry on this effort. It is similar to the bypass advertising situation where ads are not permitted on the bypass. Just possibly the mayor and council members should pay the $1.7 million from their own funds1

Keep Patriot Ave open, the city planners already screwed up Government Ave by making it narrower, whoever made that happen should pay out of their own pocket to widen it back to how it was!!

There are better ways to spend money than a splash pad. Please don't close Patriot Ave.
