I live in Durris and frequently used the bridge to access the post office , a yoga class at the Drumoak Church Hall and the Deeside Line walks for my dogs. Aswell as adding my custom to Drum Garden Centre and the new Park Shop. The detour means that I am now tending to go into Banchory more gir shopping and walks. I hope that Drumoak businesses can survive.

The diversion via Crathes bridge may look insignificant on the map but when it has to be done twice a day it adds a considerable toll in time, fuel and pollution.

I agree with the points already made. Good point especially from Felice Chilcott on air pollution and environment. It is the Scottish Government who declared the climate emergency. As a practical first step they should provide the funds to enable the local authority to keep this bridge open.

The bridge is vital to the life of Drumoak and Durris district. Without it this one district becomes two. Residents in Durris now disadvantaged and have difficulty accessing services in Drumoak - especially families with young children.

If Aberdeenshire council are serious about reducing air pollution and environmental issues they wouldn’t consider the permanent closure of The Park Bridge. Anyone living south of the Dee will have to drive miles out of their way to get to Drumoak and Drum. It is ridiculous.

A much used and loved link between our two communities.The closure of the bridge has driven a wedge between Communities of Drumoak and Durris ,so disappointing as in recent years much time and effort has been put in to bring the communities together, young and not so young.Please find the funds to do the necessary repairs.

This is an essential link between North and South Deeside for the local community. The communities on either side of the river are always referred to as Drumoak and Durris, even in Council documents so there seem little sense in removing the key link between the communities. The alternative crossings result in a significant detour which adds journey time and if travelling by motor vehicle (as most are) will result in additional carbon and particulate emissions. This is a poor idea conceived to save council money. Such facilities and links should be forged and supported.
