We need to do all we can to save this iconic bridge. The community and facilities in Drumoak are widely used by the rural community of Durris and the closure of this bridge means we can no longer support the local businesses and groups in Drumoak. Since the one bus service on the South Deeside Road was removed we are now faced with having to travel to Culter or Crathes to use public transport which is often unfeasible. Once you have travelled that distance to public transport you may as well carry on to your destination by car. This is an iconic bridge which doesn't deserve to be lost forever .

The closure of the Bridge has effectively cut easy access from Durris to Drumoak and the Council need to recognise the impact to the local community.

There are so few crossings between Aberdeen and Banchory we cannot let this bridge be permanently closed. My home is in Durris and my office in Drumoak. Some days cross it 4 times. The state of the roads in general and the lack of up keep and the length of time for repairs to be carried out in Aberdeeshire is a disgrace.

Park Bridge is an essential link between the North and South sides of the Dee Valley. The nearest alternatives are too far away. It must be repaired and reinstated.

The bridge is of historical interest and should never have been left to get into such a state of disrepair. What a shame that such an important link (bridge) has been neglected. A much used and loved link between our two communities. The traffic diversion has a huge environmental impact. Please find the funds to do the necessary repairs.

Aberdeenshire Council should rectify their years of neglect and what I understand to be inappropriate maintenance which have led to this deterioration. We are being incrementally isolated by the council from our local facilities

I use Park Bridge to visit Drumoak Post Office and also to catch the North Deeside buses. Otherwise I have to drive to Crathes for the bus or Banchory for the PO. Drimoak is cyclable. Banchory not. What about trying to get more people out of their cars? Closing Park Bridge doesn’t help!

Park Bridge is a vital link between the Drumoak and Durris communities, and whilst it is all to easy for Aberdeenshire Council to close it and have the public divert via Maryculter or Crathes it adds a lot of miles to a journey at a time when the Council and the Government are trying to reduce emissions. This is an important link and Local Councillors, MSPs and MPs need to put pressure on the Council to look at strengthening works. The bridge should not have been allowed to get into this state of disrepair and pressure needs to be applied to the Scottish Government to give Aberdeenshire Council a fair funding settlement to ensure they can maintain this and other bridges which are vital to Rural communities.

Like everything around us, falling apart. 50 years of Oil and what have we invested in our city and surroundings. Perhaps the bypass is the best thing that has happened. Shocking ! An easy fix for a small sum of money. What a shame that such an important link (bridge) has been neglected.

Not only is this bridge a link between 2 communities, it is of historical interest and should never have been left to get into such a state of disrepair. I am unable to visit a friend in Durris as I have no car and there is no bus to get there since the bridge is closed. Bring it back to good working order soon!!!
