Park Bridge is a link in so many ways. Not just linking the 2 communities but for commuting and travel links. When I lived in Drumoak it was my daily commuting route and my travel time would have been doubled without it. The alternative to cross the River Dee was at Culter or Banchory.

I live in Durris and I’m a dog walker. I have clients in Drumoak and it takes me an extra 15 minutes to pick up & drop off. It would have only taken 5 minutes if the bridge was still open!

I live in Drumoak and my elderly parents live in Durris. My business premises are also in Durris.
As a result of the closure I have had to increase prices to my clients to cover the extra fuel and time it takes for me to get to work and I was unable to help my parents during lambing this year which has cost them a significant amount in increased vet call outs out of hours.

Park Bridge is a vital link between Durris and Drumoak and MUST be kept open for both communities to use on a daily basis.

Listed on 16 April 1971 so should have been on plans to be maintained and looked after.

I have lived in Drumoak all life and although we have managed to live without park bridge short term the idea that it would never open again is ridiculous, Drumoak and Durris are not just neighbouring villages that have for most of my lift been a joint community, many clubs like the cubs & scouts for the younger ones to the young farmers in their youth through to the bowling club bringing all ages together and the bridge reopening is a huge part of keeping this tradition going.
