There is a huge impact from not being able to use this bridge. It prevents my family accessing community facilities such as the post office, local shop and baby groups due to the added travel time and distance. Whilst it may seem a small inconvenience it actually has a large impact in residents of both communities.

Please save park bridge, even if only for cyclists and pedestrians. It is very useful for motorists too

It’s essential to my business route to work

The bridge was needed before and is still needed today as this is quite a busy road at peak times.

Park bridge open for cars is essential to our community life in Durris. My self and my three kids are disadvantaged: there are groups we have had to stop as we cannot get back from Drumoak to Durris in time for school pick up. Beavers and cubs night means we spend all evening in the car - a significant detrimental effect on the environment. Our access to the Deeside way is reduced. I feel my kids will not have the same close ties with children at Drumoak school and so will be disadvantaged when moving up to Banchory Academy. When southdeeside road was closed from Kirkton of Durris to the slug road, we suddenly became very isolated and the volume of cars having to use the single track back roads was very unsafe and on the same road as the primary school. This will all worsen if more houses are built in Durris. If our infrastructure is seriously reduced and not maintained, no further housing development should be entertained. For residents of woodlands of Durris, we now have even worse road infrastructure as well as a failing sewage system. The bridge connects Generations of the community who have all worked hard at building and enjoy the rural community life. From toddler and baby groups to lawn bowls, Cubs, scouts, beavers, church and shared events between the small schools, supporting businesses and friendships. Bridge closure make this far more difficult for everyone. Please consider every way possible to open it safely. The community are keen to help.
