My family and I have two business in Durris directly across the river from this bridge .
We have a livery business for horses and we also have a cattery for boarding cats . Now clients from both businesses across the river must make a round trip to reach us by doing so they must pass various other catteries and livery stables !! I wonder for how long they will keep doing this to reach us or will it just be easier for them to change to a closer facility and save them having to drive so many more miles each day .

It is imperative that this bridge is saved as this is the main connection from the North Deeside Road to the South Deeside Road and for many residents it is crucial that this route is reopened. Also many residents in Drumoak used this route daily to get to / from work in Portlethen.

Key route in and out of drumoak for working tax paying - commuting people - get it sorted

One car a minute would have used this bridge, meaning that approximately every day 3000 extra miles are now being driven, a million miles a year! Apart from the severe dislocation to the local community, the added cost, time, road risk exposure and pollution created by this diversion should make this a high priority to come up with a solution.

As president in Drumoak for the past 35 years I used the bridge daily for 20yrs to get to Portlethen to work.
Using the new route on the awpr uses more petrol in a day and age where eco awareness is essential.
The bridge links 2 communities across the river.
The closure of the bridge adds to the traffic on the n deeside rd .

This historic bridge has often been a vital link for the local community- it’s really short-sighted to not recognise this and my hope is every endeavour will be made to maintain it - thank you

A vital link between the 2 communities. The schools at Drumoak and Durris used to work closely together this will now be much harder to maintain.

The bridge is also an essential access for cyclists to cross the Dee and avoid busy south and north Deeside roads

Very important link, not least the affect the closure must have on the post office and recently opened delicatessen now effectively cut of from patrons south of the river.
