Ridiculous idea to ruin an idyllic area when there is no need to. The age of the attendees at the new C of FE etc are old enough to be safe on the roads using their common sense, just like every other adult. After all they're old enough to vote so are considered adult enough.

Stop being a ‘nanny’ state, we all managed to go along there to get to St Peter Port Secondary. Another unnecessary expenditure when we haven’t the money

These post 16 are almost old enough to drive a car so why can’t they use the roads. I use to walk to St Peter Port school using these lanes when I was young, so beautiful & quiet and safe for walking, pushbikes go fast even if they are not electric, an accident waiting to happen. Leave well alone and use the money on something sensible.

No access for cyclists at all. The sign confirms. It is a beautiful peaceful tranquil lane to enjoy. Do not foul yet another thing up in Guernsey. It is a pedestrian sanctuary.

I'd like to ask who would be funding this if it went ahead? The Local Tax Payers? It has been like this for 100's of years, if it's not broken, please don't fix it. There are plenty of other things that are broken in this island that need repairing.

The idea of metal grids here is just awful. Please, keep it quaint!

Cyclists should dismount and walk

Should be kept as it is for all wildlife to enjoy. Allowing pushbikes through will make it unsafe especially with electric bikes! Children walking to school take that route as it’s safer than the main roads!

Ridiculous! It has been like that for years and kids love the waterline watching leave run down it or just something different to normal landscape. As a child I used to walk through here daily. So what if someone fell in its not deep and how often does this happen, not much only if people are being silly!

Yet another piece of Guernsey of history will be lost and a lot more all the nature just for cyclists.Didn’t destroy this beautiful & tranquil place.

The water lane has always been there. Leave it alone!
