If children lack the confidence to cycle along the path, what’s wrong with pushing the bike?

Do NOT cover these water lanes! The disregard for wildlife by politicians blinkered to everything except their popularity and wallet is shameful! Wildlife is everything and should be our priority!

We always used to play in the water lanes when we were kids. Perfectly safe, none of us ever fell in.

Pedestrian area for centuries. Since when do cyclists take precedence to ruin an historical and natural landscape.

My daughter lives in the water lanes and I just love the sound of the running stream and the sound of the birds and wildlife . Please leave it alone

Yet another example of selfish humans wanting to force the world around them to only work for them.

Which Wackjob at ESC floated this idea. Waste of time and money. Completely unnecessary and disgusting proposal, given what will be lost. Or should we all just build on top of the greenfield sites too.

The water lanes are the lungs of our congested roads in this area - they should be retained to continue to breathe serenity into all who walk through and give life to the aquatic and other wildlife currently making this their home.

Improvements are always a good idea but for cyclists? In this area? No. This should remain for pedestrians and wildlife.

No need for this doesn't seem to have caused any accidents.

If you put metal grids all over it, you'll lose sight of all the life in the water and spoil a beautiful, tranquil little gem. Everyone is so risk-averse these days.

Please do not mess with this idyllic lane. It would be a travesty to change it.

Guernsey is slowly being eroded, bit by bit. Let's stop this where we can

The water lanes are part of our heritage, they are unique and should be preserved at all costs!
