My family and I have used this local service on a number of occasions most recently to treat my sons broken arm. It provides a valued and convenient way of seeing a medical professional for urgent illnesses and minor injuries when it has not been possible to book an appointment with the GP. The waiting times are typically much shorter than going to A and E at Arrowe Park. The NHS walk-in centres relieve the pressure on already overstretched A and E. Will the centralised site have the same capacity to see all the patients that the current drop-ins see? How much will the construction of a new centralised site cost? It seems a waste of money when there are already perfectly good and relatively new facilities available. Forcing people to go to a centralised site will be a deterrent resulting in them becoming more seriously ill than necessary. They will not have been assessed at an early stage in their illness and could lead to a hospital admission which could have been avoided. This will result in greater strain and unnecessary costs to the NHS. The proposal does not make sense from a patient service or financial perspective.

So everyone will have to go to Arrowe Park ....... already chaos when it come to parking. The walk-in centre is supposed to be convenient! Closing the local centres is a ridiculous proposal.

I strongly object to this proposal. The point of the walk-in centres is surely their convenience. If they are closed, many patients who cannot afford a taxi to and from Arrowe will face an inconvenient bus journey, so inconvenient as to often be a deterrent. And as the A&E department is already busy (I speak from recent personal experience), to exacerbate that situation seems most unwise.

On the occasions I've been unable to get an appointment at my Practice I've been advised to go the pharmacy or the walk-in for advice, I have found the Miriam Centre to be accessible staff to be courteous and professional and have you are attended to within reasonable time scale. This Centre is very invaluable to the community as it's getting more difficult to get an appointment with my GP. If this Centre is closed it will be a great loss to the community. Arrowe Park will be even more chaotic than it is now if the walk-in service is centred around it.

This is a vital LOCAL service. If you are worried about an urgent health issue and cannot access your GP quickly, these centres provide a great local solution. Those of us who do not drive or have access to a vehicle, live alone and are struggling to survive financially, cannot afford to go in a taxi to Arrowe Park. This centralisation of the service does not serve the patient and will only cause greater numbers to present at A & E when their problem has become an emergency or because they have no choice. It is difficult enough to access a GP as it is - please don't remove this essential service for local people.
