this is just stupid how can they pay such a high price they should pay a rent as a percentage of what they earn in the year that would be fair its far better to have a business running than closed

If Inverness can have lots of HMO's (Houses of Multiple Occupancy) in the town center that do nothing positive for the city. SMO's (Shops of Multiple Occupancy) deserve more support than the scum landlords.

It's a makeshift market with rolling businesses. The businesses in the victorian market don't get treated this way, or the East Gate. Sort it out.

Rating assessment diabolical when this whole venture is part of trying to save the old town.

The committee has ruled and this will be correct under law. However in Marginal Cases then the committee should look at more than the legislation and look at whether or not the overall good to the public and the city is more than the legislation. It has been given the power to do something. It should do it.

The UK government has stressed how important small businesses are to the economy. Highland Council should be doing everything they can to promote small businesses like this. The village is a great shopping experience; a breath of fresh air and a vital new venture. I hope HC reconsider their decision.

This is an absolute disgrace!!! Independent business folk trying to make their way in the world and provide something unique to our town and you slam them with fees like this but are willing to sign off on every bloody coffee shop, bookmakers or pawn broker that want to come to this town!! The village is community and you want to take it away for the love of money?!?!? Disgusting!!

How can this be? Where you should be encouraging life into the shopping centre, what with the introduction of online shopping, instead you are suffocating it with unaffordable rates. Do you want a thriving community, or a dead end street?
